Late Night Cleaning / Closing Day

Now that most everything was out of the house, Kristina and I still had to clean it. This was about 11:00 pm. About 1:00 am I realized that one of the cat carriers was missing! It must have been packed on the truck! Several times the loaders tried to pack those away and I had stopped them. Somehow, one of the two carriers was gone. That meant I had to make a late-night Wal-Mart run. Super... one more thing to add to the agenda. We stayed up until 4:30 am cleaning the house, steam cleaning the carpet, and packing up the cleaning supplies. We were exhausted and still had some more cleaning to do. We slept on an air mattress for a couple of hours. I got up about 7:00 am to try and finish things up. At 8:00 am, I called the local U-Haul and made the earliest appointment I could to get a hitch and trailer -- 1:00 pm.

It didn't look like we would be on time for our 10:00 am closing. We managed to show up around 10:30 am to sign all the papers. That took only 30 minutes or so. But they wouldn't have our check ready until that afternoon! AAaaarrrggghhh!! One more thing we had to do later that day!!

After the signing/closing, our realtor and friend, Ron Ryan came by the house to get his now destroyed sign (and the lock box from the front door). I asked him if he knew where the local dump was, and I offered to pay him to haul away all the garbage we had accummulated on our friend's driveway. He was unbelievably kind enough to put it all in the back of his truck and take it for us. Thanks Ron!!!! We said our goodbye's to him, and then I left to get the hitch and trailer.
