White Sands National Monument

We took the kids to White Sands National Monument in New Mexico this weekend. We all thought it was pretty amazing. It was very hot, but a rainstorm was on the way. Click on any image to see a larger version.

We had to wear sunglasses, it was so bright.

The kids bury Kristina's feet. The sand is made of gypsum crystals, not quartz, so the sand itself doesn't get very hot.

Kolton tries to slide down the hill. Next time we need to bring snow discs to slide on.

Kennah tries sliding on her knees.

Climbing back up the dune.

One thing unique about this sand is that it is water soluble.

You can see more photos of our trip on our Web Gallery.

Hey! found you. Tuscon seems like a nice place. I've driven through there on the way back and forth to Las Vegas where I was a youth pastor during my college days at HSU.

I think my wife and I drove through there when we moved back to Texas from California where I attended Seminary for a couple of years (didn't finish, though). However, it was dark.

I've often wondered what you were up to, where you were, etc...

Good looking family!

Grace!
