Just about done
After fiddling with domain settings at GoDaddy.com and making all the necessary adjustments, it looks like we are back on line. I've got this blog, our email and calendar hosted with Google Apps for Your Domain. It's free, and I love Gmail, so
it was a no brainer. And I've been using Blogger for a couple of years, so that was an obvious choice. And the Google Calendar is great. Their Web Pages feature needs a lot of work, however. The rest of my domain (whatever else I want) is hosted at GoDaddy.
I'm still testing out which photo gallery I want to use. I'm trying Gallery 2 and Coppermine Gallery. I'm also trying Google's Picasweb. With Gallery and Coppermine, I'm hosting it at my own domain, so space isn't a problem -- my hosting account allows up to 100GB. Picasweb, on the other hand, is only 250MB. But the images seen from Picasweb seem much more vivid. They must do some processing to the uploaded images. Why not Flickr? We'll I've got an account, but haven't gotten around to doing much with it, yet.
Fortunately, all these programs/services have plug-ins that allow me to export my images directly from iPhoto.

Hey Kerry, I'm glad you're blogging again! I'm very jealous about your trip to Hawaii. Next year, we'll be planning our 10 year anniversary! Right now we're thinking about a trip to San Francisco or Seattle...
Hey Kerry, have you had any problems sending mail to/receiving mail from MSN.com addresses? I have set up Google Apps on my domain (vekony.com) and I agree, it's incredible, except that MSN/Hotmail people can't reach me and neither can I reach them...
