Tucson Sidewinders Game

We went to our first Tucson Sidewinders game on Thursday. The Sidewinders are a Triple A farm team of the Arizona Diamondbacks in the Pacific Coast League. I won some free tickets from KWBA -- the local WB TV Station, so we had to go! It was a lot of fun, the weather was great, and parking is always free at Tucson Electric Park. It was a "Thirsty Thursdays" night. That means $1 Beer, Sodas and Lemonade from the first pitch until 9:00 p.m. And the Tucsonans in attendance took their $1 beers seriously. I think everyone there had two beers in their hands at all times. (And the only reason they weren't holding more is because of the two beer limit per purchase.)

A really amazing thing I discovered buried in the team's website earlier in the day is something called the Minor League Club. It's a FREE daycare for 3-7 year olds that is available at the park from the 3rd to the 7th innings. We checked it out and dropped the kids off there -- they loved it! Kristina and I were able to watch the game for a couple of innings while the kids had fun playing.

Kolton REALLY wanted to get on the field and play ball with the team. He had a hard time understanding why he couldn't!

FYI: The team played the Oklahoma Redhawks and won 4-0.
